Dallas Vietnamese Radio’s Annual Lunar New Year Celebration Features Dragon Dance
Celebrate the Year of the Rooster this weekend at Dallas Vietnamese Radio's 14th Annual Lunar New Year Celebration in Arlington.
The celebration, which includes a Dragon Dance, starts at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 29 outside of the radio station, located at 2202 New York Avenue Suite 902 in east Arlington.
Dallas Viet Radio, which launched in 2003, broadcasts 7 days a week to Vietnamese listeners across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
The Lunar New Year, which begins Saturday, January 28 this year, embraces the cultures of China, Korea, Vietnam and other countries that observe the lunar calendar. According to 2010 U.S. Census Bureau statistics, more than 24,800 Arlington residents are of Asian descent.
