Various organizations throughout Arlington are gearing up for fall classes, camps, and other extra curricular activities for kids after school.

Here are just a few opportunities for kids to get creative, stay active, or try something new this fall.

Creative Arts Theatre & School (CATS)

CATS is a creative arts school offering classes in performing arts, as well as opportunities for participation in theatrical performances, for children and youth ages 3-18. Classes are held in the basement of the Arlington Museum of Art, 201 W. Main St. Classes offered include acting, improvisation, musical theatre, tap, ballet, and jazz. The fall semester is September 14-December 17. Classes are offered Monday through Thursday between 4.30 and 8:30 p.m. Prices vary between $150 and $325 depending on class. Theatre Arlington Adult and Children's Theatre School (ACTS)

Theatre Arlington offers acting classes for all acting levels for ages 4 to adult. Classes are offered in the fall and spring for 12 week semesters at Theatre Arlington, 305 W. Main St. Classes offered include creative play, musical theatre, acting, and improvisation. The fall semester is September 14-December 16. Classes for kids and youth are offered Monday through Wednesday between 4:00 and 7:30 p.m. Prices vary between $195 and $280 depending on class. Salvation Army After School Program

Salvation Army offers an after school program for children ages 5-12 at their Family Life Center and Youth Education Town, 712 W. Abram St. Activities in the program include gym, dancing, music, homework help, snack, and arts and crafts. The program is Monday through Friday from 3:30 to 6 August 31 to June 5. YMCA Before and After School Care Program

The YMCA of Arlington offers before school care at four Arlington elementary schools, and after school care at 21 Arlington and Mansfield schools, four private/charter schools, and the Central YMCA Family Center, 2200 S. Davis Dr. Before school care is Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. until school start time, and after school care is Monday through Friday school dismissal to 6:30 p.m. The price of before school care for a full YMCA member is $10 per week or $40 per month, and $25 per week or $100 per month for program members. The price of after school care for a full YMCA member is $35 per week or $140 per month, and $55 per week or $220 per month for program members. There is additionally a one time program membership fee of $55 per year for families or $35 per year for individuals. Arlington Youth Athletics

Registration is now open through September 30 for youth volleyball and lacrosse teams through the City of Arlington's "Playing is Winning" Youth Sports Program. The registration fee for volleyball is $75, and the fee for lacrosse is $95. The volleyball season begins October 17, and the lacrosse season begins October 24.
