Levitt Pavilion Fall Concert Series

Just as it has every year since Levitt Pavilion Arlington had its opening night in October 2008, Denton's own two-time Grammy Award-winning Brave Combo will take the stage to open the pavilion's free fall concert series in Downtown Arlington this Friday, September 2. Delta Rae will also be part of opening weekend, performing at 8 p.m. Saturday, September 3. Delta Rae is best described as an alt/pop band with four lead singers whose music incorporates all aspects of Americana. Finishing the first weekend of fall concerts, Paul Thorn brings his bluesy rock that's decidedly Southern at 8 p.m. Sunday, September 4. 2016 AdvoCare Classic Kickoff Tailgate at AT Stadium

AT Stadium will host a Kickoff Tailgate prior to the start of the AdvoCare Classic on Saturday, Sept. 3, when the University of Southern California Trojans will face off against the University of Alabama Crimson Tide in each team's first game of the season. The Kickoff Tailgate will be open to the public in Lot 4 of AT Stadium from 1 to 5 p.m. School pep rallies for both USC and Alabama will also be taking place along with live entertainment, including a musical performance by Jamie N Commons, on the stage in Lot 4 throughout the day. Eggroll Festival, Business Expo and Health Fair

The annual Eggroll Festival Expo and Health Fair moves to Ben Thanh Plaza at 1818 E. Pioneer Parkway in Arlington on Saturday, September 3, hosted Saturday by the Tarrant County Asian-American Chamber of Commerce. In addition to delicious egg rolls, the event features other Asian foods, ethnic dances, music performances, business exhibits, a health fair and a dessert contest. Volunteer medical professionals will be on hand to provide free health screenings and flu shots. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. 'Ulterior Motifs ' at Arlington Museum of Art

The Arlington Museum of Art, Arlington Cultural Tourism Council, and Wheeler Bro's Studios is proud to present the 14th instillation of the renowned group exhibition known as Ulterior Motifs. Conceived in 1999 by Jeffrey and Bryan Wheeler as a celebratory exhibition of Lubbock art and music, this semi-regular show has gradually evolved into a wider presentation of prominent contemporary artists who live in or maintain strong ties to Texas. Star of Texas Challenge

Now's your chance to check out Arlington's newest public art, get your picture on the City's Facebook and Twitter pages and win a prize pack all at the same time. It's the Star of Texas Challenge and you can join the race. The City and the Arlington Museum of Art challenge residents to visit the 20 stars positioned throughout Arlington and check out each artist's interpretation of what makes Arlington the American Dream City!

How does the challenge work?

  • Post your photos to the Star of Texas Challenge Facebook page, tweet them at @CityofArlington or post on theCity's Instagram (cityofarlington) using the hashtags #AmericanDreamCity and #StarOfTexas.
  • You can upload all 20 photos as you go or post them all at once. It's up to you! We'll keep track of your name if you want to do them one at a time!!
  • In order to win the package of prizes you must take YOUR picture in front of all 20 stars.

Dallas Wings Basketball at College Park Center

The Dallas Wings of the WNBA return to action this Friday, September 2 at UT Arlington's College Park Center in Downtown. The game against the Los Angeles Sparks starts at 7:30 p.m. The Wings will also be in Arlington for a home game on Sunday, September 4 vs. the Washington Mystics at 3:30 p.m. You can find a complete schedule and ticket information by visiting UTATICKETS.com. After this weekend, the Wings return to Arlington for the team's final regular season home game on Sunday, September 11 vs. the New York Liberty. UTA's College Park Center is located at 600 S. Rangers Labor Day Weekend Race

Join your Texas Rangers for a scenic 5K through Arlington's entertainment district and finish on the field at Globe Life Park, or take part in the family-friendly 1K! The Rangers Labor Day Weekend Race presented by Medical Center Arlington is USATF certified and chip timed. Each race participant will receive:

  • Commemorative race t-shirt
  • Entry to post race celebration, which includes complimentary food and beverage
  • Event participation ribbon
  • Awards for top performers in each male and female age category

$1 Kid-Friendly Movies at Studio Movie Grill

Need an air-conditioned escape for your kids this summer? Studio Movie Grill in the Arlington Highlands is hosting its Children's Summer Series Monday through Friday for $1. The Children's Summer Series will run every week through Sept. 2. The movies change on a weekly basis but include several classic movies such as Shrek and Horton Hears a Who. All movies begin at 11 am. Whether the kids will be enjoying the movie for the first time or for the 10th, it's a great way for the family to cool off on a hot summer day here in the American Dream City.
