1. Downtown Arlington Music Fest

From June 8-10, seven downtown venues will offer original music artists, including headliners on the Levitt Pavilion Arlington stage. The Downtown Arlington Music Fest features Texas State Musician Joe Ely, area favorites, Bowling For Soup; and the much-anticipated return of Delta Rae. Friday through the Sunday, each night of the festival starts at 7 p.m. A Sing-a-Long Frozen movie event will take place on Thursday, June 7 at 8 p.m.

Additional venues participating in Downtown Arlington Music Fest by presenting live music before and after the Levitt Pavilion headliners are Division Brewing, the Grease Monkey, J. Gilligan's, J.R. Bentley's, Legal Draft and Urban Alchemy. The City of Arlington has partnered with Waze to give drivers the best experience possible to get around town. Drivers can download Waze for free at www.waze.com/get for iOS and Android and see real-time traffic, find optimal routes, avoid road closures and more.

2. Cut! Costume and Cinema at Arlington Museum of Art

The Cut! Costume and the Cinema exhibit runs through Sunday, August 12, allowing visitors to step onto the movie set with 43 costumes from 27 period films. Some highlights include Johnny Depp's costume from Pirates of the Caribbean, pieces from the Costume Academy Award winner, The Duchess, and Emmy Rossum's gown from The Phantom of the Opera. The Arlington Museum of Art is located at 201 W. Main St. in Downtown Arlington's growing cultural arts district.

3. Arlington Parks & Recreation's Food Truck Friday Dinner Series

Looking to enjoy dinner outdoors? The Arlington Parks and Recreation Department's fabulous Food Truck Fridays dinner series continues this week in north Arlington. This dinner series will take place from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. every Friday night at the River Legacy Parks Elm Grove Pavilion, 701 N.W. Green Oaks Blvd., until June 15. Each Friday will feature a new lineup of food trucks, allowing visitors the opportunity to taste and try out different fare. The food truck line-ups will be announced the Wednesday before each event at www.naturallyfun.org/foodtruck.

4. Hurricane Harbor

It's time to break out the swimwear, slather on the sunscreen, and dust off your sunglasses for a fun-filled season at Hurricane Harbor! This summer season is sure to rock with plenty of activities for the entire family. Cool off with the kiddos at Hook's Lagoon with four mini slides, water sprayers and shallow water to splash around in. For the thrills seekers in the family, hop onto Tornado and travel down the 132 foot slide in the mouth of a gigantic funnel. Hurricane Harbor will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Starting this Friday, June 8 through August 10, the water park will play your favorite films on a Texas-sized big screen over the iconic wave pool.

5. Six Flags Over Texas

Six Flags Over Texas, the Thrill Capital of Texas, continues its 57th season in The American Dream City. The park will open this weekend for guests to enjoy their favorite coasters and attractions, while preparations continue for the late spring debut of the ultimate Super-Villain thrill ride-HARLEY QUINN Spinsanity. The park's operating hours are from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. 6. Live Music at Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club

Head over to Grease Monkey Burger Shop & Social Club in Downtown Arlington for two nights of live music this weekend. On Friday night, Chasing Rent performs at 9 p.m. On Saturday night, residents and visitors can check out The Martin Brothers. Jim Kisselburg and Rob Leahy, are an acoustic duo from Fort Worth, TX and boast an uncanny ability to cover popular songs, while at the same time making them their own. Both are longtime veterans of the DFW music scene. That show gets underway at 9 p.m. Grease Monkey is located at 200 N Mesquite St, Arlington, TX 76011.

7. Live Music at J.R. Bentley's

57 Sauce is set to perform this Friday, June 8, 2018 at J.R. Bentley's in Downtown Arlington. The show starts at 8 p.m. The group plays a wide variety of songs in the genres of Funk, Rock and Reggae. On Saturday, enjoy live music from the Davis & Rose. That show also begins at 8 p.m. Situated in a historic home, J.R. Bentley's has the feel of an authentic English pub and features several local and area bands throughout the year. The venue is located at 406 W Abram St, Arlington, TX 76010. 8. Paint Your Pet Party at Legal Draft Beer Co.

Join Jayson Blondin Fine Art - Paint by the Glass this Sunday, June 10 for the first "Paint Your Pet" Party at Legal Draft from 1-4 p.m. Guests will have the chance to create their very own masterpiece painting of your furry loved one. The group is also partnering with Tzu Zoo Rescue for this event, so there will be some lovely pups that need a home at this event. Enjoy some great company, great beer, and puppy love. Food trucks will be on site as well. Tickets are $50 per person and include everything except food and drink.

9. Tai Chi in Downtown Arlington

Enjoy Tai Chi this Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 9:15-10:30 a.m. at 201 E. Abram St. in Downtown Arlington. Tai Chi has been reported to include many health benefits, including increased strength, balance, and posture. The class can also help you prevent falls (#1 emergency hospital visits by older adults), reduce stress and increase relaxation. The event also provides a great opportunity for residents and visitors to socialize. If it's raining or inclement weather is in the forecast during the session, there won't be practice.

10. Shows at UTA Planetarium

UTA Planetarium continues to offer shows to residents and visitors. This includes Spacepark 360: Infinity, a planetarium show designed to recreate the experience of amusement park thrill rides, roller coasters, pendulums, inverters and more.
