Fall storytimes are back at the Arlington Public Library, and children of all ages will find something at their favorite library branch to kick their imaginations into high gear!
Storytimes are not only a great way to help children develop a lifelong love of reading, they provide the perfect opportunity for bonding and having fun with their caregivers. Listening to stories, singing songs, and learning rhymes together are a great ways to carve out special time just for you and your little one.
The Library offers a variety of storytimes to choose from:
- Bouncing Babies (ages 0-18 months) is a lap-sit storytime that features songs, rhymes, and short books. Children will benefit from the lyrical verses, motor skill exercises, and play time with other attendees at the end of each session.
- Toddler Time (ages 18 months to 3 years) is a high-energy program that uses short books, songs, rhymes, letter sounds, and more to help your toddler learn new words while having fun.
- Preschool Storytime (ages 3 to 5 years) helps children develop preliteracy skills that will help them be ready for kindergarten. Longer books, songs, and a variety of activities will engage little minds while encouraging imagination and discovery.
- Wee Reads (ages 3-4) is a bilingual storytime that uses a variety of books, songs, rhymes, and more to help preschool-aged children with language acquisition while also modeling successful tips and tricks for parents.
- Family Storytime (all ages) is great for any children who love storytime, with books, songs, and activities that appeal to a broad range of ages.
If you haven 't experienced the magic of storytime before, check out our schedule to find the one that works best for you.
