Close to 100 registered participants are expected to convene in The American Dream City for the International Association of Law Enforcement Planners Conference, Sept. 21-25, 2015.
The IALEP consists of people working in the area of planning and research for criminal justice agencies. This organization has close to 1,000 members from around the world, including Australia, Bulgaria, Kuwait, Canada and South Africa.
The reception and opening gala on September 21 will feature Tarrant County Sheriff Dee Anderson. On day two, Arlington Police Chief Will Johnson will serve as the keynote speaker on policing legitimacy and public trust. The four-day conference also includes sessions on neighborhood policing, social mdia, officer safety, tourism policing and emergency preparedness planning. The conference also includes a public safety tour of AT&T Stadium and an awards banquet.
The IALEP association shares information about the latest innovations, issues, problems and solutions confronting the criminal justice profession. The association serves as a forum to exchange ideas, programs, techniques, and policies. IALEP was formed by the 1991 merger of the Association of Police Planning and Research Officers and the National Association of Police Planners, which also sponsors a standard and advanced level certification program for planners.
