Knapp Heritage Park, part of the Arlington Historical Society, will hold its annual Front Street Festival this weekend to give residents a glimpse into pioneer life on the Texas Plains.

The festival is set for 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, September 24 at Knapp Heritage Park, 201 W. Front Street in downtown Arlington.

The entry fee is $3 for adults and free admission for children under 12. Visitors may tour each of the buildings in Knapp Heritage Park, which contains three of Arlington 's oldest structures.

Visitors will also shop goods such as multimedia art and handmade jewelry. HoukWalker will also be there to sell wooden and ceramic works before giving a wood turning demonstration. There will be many more demonstrations in book-binding, blacksmithing, and more, as well as face painting for children.

Various artists, including Wade Johnson and the Alan Fox Band, will play live music from 10 am. to 5 p.m.

Steel City Pops and Maroches Bakery will be onsite to sell refreshing popsicles, cookies, Mexican sweet breads as well as tacos, burritos and tamales. After the festival, visitors can enjoy a 20 percent discount at the nearby Mellow Mushroom with proof of admission.
