Arlington Water Utilities, Arlington Public Library Offer Spring Gardening Classes
Arlington Water Utilities is hosting a series of classes this spring to help residents learn more about how to boost the water efficiency of their outdoor spaces. The classes, which start March 22, are co-sponsored by the Tarrant Regional Water District, the City's wholesale water provider. Other program partners include the Tarrant County Master Gardener Association and the Arlington Public Library.

- Growing Native and Adapted Plants for Texas -6-8 p.m., Thursday, March 22, at the Southwest Branch Library, 3311 SW Green Oaks Boulevard
- Sustainable Vegetable Gardening -6-8 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, at the East Arlington Branch Library, 1624 New York Ave.
- Water Efficient Landscape Design -6:30-8 p.m., Thursday, April 5, 1905 Brown Boulevard
Arlington Water is also hosting a rain barrel making class 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, May 8 at River Legacy Living Science Center, 703 NW Green Oaks Boulevard. Learn the basics and benefits of rainwater harvesting and environmental effects of stormwater from Texas A&M AgriLife's Water University. Participants will have the opportunity to make their own 55-gallon rain barrel. The class is hands-on DIY and each participant can take home a barrel for $50 each. Pre-payment is required.
