I-20 to be Closed Between Matlock, Collins Overnight Thursday for Center Street Bridge Project
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will close a section of Interstate 20 in Arlington for construction of the Center Street Bridge from 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29 to 6 a.m. Friday, Sept. 30.
The closure, weather permitting, will affect the portion of Interstate 20 between Matlock Road and Collins Street.
Partial closures will begin at 7 p.m.
Motorists will be detoured to the frontage road. North and southbound Matlock Road and Collins Street will also be closed at I-20 during this closure to facilitate the detour. North and southbound motorists can cross I-20 using Farm-to-Market Road 157/Cooper Street.
The project, constructed in coordination with the City of Arlington, will improve mobility, safety and connectivity, consists of building a four-lane bridge with a sidewalk from the existing Center Street north of I-20 and extending south to Bardin Road. The project is estimated for completion by late 2016.
TxDOT appreciates the patience of motorists, and encourages attention to all warning signs within the construction work zone while crews work diligently to complete this project as quickly and as safely as possible. You can see all Texas road conditions by visiting: www.drivetexas.org.
