This Halloween season, Sponsor Adoptions and Arlington Animal Services are celebrating more than just spooks and scares. They're celebrating animal welfare and pet adoption.
Sponsor Adoptions, an Arlington-based active animal welfare agency, and Arlington Animal Services are hosting the fourth annual Howloween Spooktactular Saturday, October 17.
This is Sponsor Adoptions' biggest fundraiser of the year, Sponsor Adoptions Founder and President Karen Monaco said. It gives the organization the ability to continue to help people in financial hardship keep their pets, to provide animals with medical treatment, and to reduce euthanasia. The event is vital to the organization, as it is 100% volunteer run.
"We depend on [the event] to keep going every year," Monaco said.
Activities at Howloween Spooktacular include a silent auction, pet supplies, wheel of prizes, a reptile show, games, food, drinks, bounce houses, face painting, and more. In addition, Arlington Animal Services mobile adoption team will have on site pet adoptions.
Fuzzy's Tacos is catering the event, and Vegan Noms and Steel City Pops food trucks will have food for sale as well.
Howloween Spooktacular will be held Saturday, October 17 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at River Legacy Park, Elm Grove Picnic Area, 701 NW Green Oaks Blvd. The cost to participate in activities is a $5 donation per person. For more information, call Sponsor Adoptions at 817-394-5031.
