Bronze monument installed in the Meadowbrook Sculpture Garden, 249-201 Willis Ave, Arlington, TX 76010.
The seven Rotary Clubs in Arlington commissioned the piece to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Rotary International in 2005, and to inaugurate the Arlington Sculpture Garden in Meadowbrook Park. They searched for a sculptor and eventually selected Seth Vandable, a highly regarded North Texas sculptor who specializes in human form bronzes. “Blue Sky Dream” features a man and woman of classic anatomical makeup holding their newly born child skyward. It was unveiled on June 24, 2005.
Seth Vandable began his career as a commercial artist and painter in central Texas, albeit one with a consuming interest in human anatomy. His background in painting combined with many years of studying human anatomy have contributed to his international success as a sculptor. Vandable strives to capture the intensity of the human spirit in compositions that are both innovative and timeless. His detailed working knowledge of human anatomy is so extensive that the need for models is eliminated, making each sculpture a truly original creation. His work can be found in private and public collections worldwide. Seth has the honors of being inducted into the National Sculpture Society as a long-time Fellow Member. He exhibits in their annual sculpture exhibitions in New York.
