The City of Arlington Health Division ensures that all food establishments such as restaurants, child care kitchens, convenience stores, and grocery stores are inspected at least once annually. Inspections are conducted based on criterion in the Texas Food Establishment Rules (TFER) and the City of Arlington Health and Sanitation Ordinance Article IV.
Inspection scores reflect the updated scoring system in which 100 is a perfect score and 70 is considered to be extremely poor.
A scored reinspection will be conducted for establishments that score 75 or less. Establishments that have a score of 76 or better, but have critical violations, may receive an unscored follow-up inspection to ensure that the critical violations have been corrected.
Establishments presenting serious health and sanitation violations that are considered to be an imminent health hazard will be closed upon the authority of the City of Arlington Health Division until the identified health hazard has been mitigated.
Change of Ownership and Complaint Inspections do not result in a score.
