The Arlington Police Department responded to a major crash in the 2800 block of Six Flags Drive on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 8:49 p.m. involving an overturned pickup truck. Investigators believe the driver was traveling eastbound on Six Flags Drive and preparing to take the on ramp for eastbound I.H. 30. The driver lost control of the vehicle and it left the roadway and overturned several times. There were a total of three occupants inside the vehicle.
The rear passenger, a man in his mid-20’s, was ejected from the pickup and pronounced deceased a short time later at a local hospital. The right front passenger was injured and transported to a local hospital. The driver, identified as 35-year old Arquimides Rivera of Little Elm, Texas, was arrested for Intoxication Manslaughter after receiving minor treatment at a hospital. He remains in the Arlington Jail as of today.
Detectives are looking into the possibility that another motorist may have been involved in a road rage incident with the suspect’s vehicle prior to the crash. The deceased will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office once next of kin have been notified.
