The Arlington Police Department responded to a single vehicle crash in the 1300 block of West I.H. 20 around 3:15 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019. Officers located a vehicle that had crashed into a barrier wall and caught fire. The sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Investigators believe that the vehicle was traveling westbound on the highway between Matlock and Cooper Streets and for an unknown reason, the vehicle veered off the freeway and struck the inside concrete barrier wall. The impact of the crash caused the vehicle to travel across all of the lanes and come to rest on the outside shoulder of the highway. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office will identify the deceased once next of kin have been notified.
