The Arlington Police Department was notified that Traffic Officer Stacie Brown, a 14-year veteran of the department, was selected to receive the 2019 Texas Impaired Driving Traffic Safety Champion Award. Officer Brown has been assigned to the Traffic Division – DWI Enforcement Unit since 2007 and has made countless impaired driving arrests. Most notably, Officer Brown has conducted hundreds of presentations for young adults to educate them on the dangers of impaired driving. She also partners with MADD to assist with rehabilitating DWI offenders by providing her personal testimony coupled with her professional experience as a DWI Enforcement Officer.
“Officer Brown has made significant contributions to reduce dangerous drivers from our roadways,” said Police Chief Will Johnson. “She networks with our children and teens in a manner that resonates with them so that they can make good decisions before getting behind the wheel of a car.”
Officer Brown will receive the award on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 in Pflugerville, Texas. Each year, the Texas Impaired Driving Task Force presents an award to select individuals and organizations. This is a competitive award process. Click here for more information on the award.
