Start your 4th of July party a few days early, at Viridian's Stars and Stripes Celebration. There will be a kids' zone, fireworks, food trucks and live music. The event is free and open to everyone. Just head to Lake Slope Park starting at 3 p.m. Fireworks are scheduled for 9:30.
The Arlington Public Library is taking storytime on the road. Enjoy a latte Friday morning at Savor Coffee Bar while your children learn. The event is free and starts at 10 a.m. The story will be geared toward early learners, up to four years old.
This is your chance to experience the work of Keith Haring in person. The Arlington Museum of Art is now home to one of the world's largest Haring collections. Haring created iconic pop art pieces in the 80s and 90s before dying from AIDS. Admission to the exhibit is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and students and free for children under 12.
How about taking in the Keith Haring exhibit while also improving your yoga practice? The Arlington Yoga Center and Arlington Museum of Art have partnered for a special class inside the museum Sunday. Admission is $20.
Experience the sounds of true Americana Sunday at St. Barnabas United Methodist Church (5011 W. Pleasant Ridge Road.) The church choir has partnered with the Arlington Master Chorale for a free patriotic concert, starting at 3 p.m.
The art of blacksmithing will be on display Sunday at Knapp Heritage Park. Master makers will showcase the skills needed to work with metal. The demonstrations run from 1-4 p.m.
Introduce your children to a world of music Friday morning at the Downtown Library. Symphony Arlington members will give kids the chance to see, hear and touch the instruments that make up the orchestra. There will be a musical performance and games as well. The event starts at 10:30 a.m.
There's something for everyone this weekend from honky-tonk to mariachi. Alt-country group The Vandoliers take the stage Friday. Saturday belongs to Latin Grammy winners Flor de Toloache. The weekend wraps up with bluegrass group Wood & Wire Sunday. All shows are free and start at 8 p.m.
Get ready to experience art and culture from around the world. "Texas Live!" is hosting a night of international art, performances and presentations Saturday. Tickets start at $20.
