Arlington Museum of Art’s Three Exhibitions 

The new Arlington Museum of Art in the Entertainment District features three new exhibitions, Pompeii: The Immortal City, One Point Five Degrees, and Youth Art Month. For ticket information, click here

¡Viva La Fiesta! 

Celebrate ¡Viva La Fiesta! and enjoy delicious festive foods, live shows and more at Six Flags Over Texas. Starting April 6th through May 5th, celebrate culture and traditions with live performances of Ballet Folklórico, a Mariachi band, and DJ Aiden Brasher. The park will come alive with folk art, colorful festoons, piñatas, papel picado décor, and more!

Cinco de Mayor Celebration (50+ years)

Enjoy a taco bar and entertainment at the Cinco de Mayo Celebration 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2024, at the Dottie Lynn Recreation Center

Wings host Caitlyn Clark and Indiana Fever in Preseason Game

Your hometown WNBA team, the Wings, host the Indiana Fever and the WNBA debut of Caitlyn Clark 7 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2024, at College Park Center. For more information, click here

Steel Magnolias at Theatre Arlington

Prepare to be moved to tears and laughter in equal measure with ‘Steel Magnolias’ at Theatre Arlington. This heartwarming tale of love, friendship, and resilience in a small Southern town will tug at your heartstrings. Join a remarkable group of women as they gather in a charming beauty salon and share their joys and sorrows, reminding us that the bonds of friendship are unbreakable. The show runs from Friday, May 3 until Sunday, May 19, 2024. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday & Saturday, and then 2 p.m. Sunday. Purchase tickets on-site or at Theatre Arlington’s website

Collegiate Esports Commissioners Cup 

The all-inclusive collegiate esports celebration brings collegiate esports athletes from across North America to battle in multiple game titles for the chance to be crowned winner of the Commissioners Cup. Friday, May 3, 2024 at Esports Stadium Arlington the CECC welcomes 320 teams, 185 schools, and 1,500 of the nation’s best esports athletes who will vie for this prestigious award in Overwatch 2, Rocket League, Valorant, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Shows at Arlington Music Hall

The Arlington Music Hall has shows you can enjoy this weekend. You can experience End of the Line: A Tribute to The Allman Brothers 8 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2024, and then 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2024, it’s Leap of Faith Spring Recital. Click on the event date for ticket information.  

Levitt Pavilion Fall Concert Series 

Levitt Pavilion Arlington’s Spring Concert Series continues starting 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2024, with Jade Flores opening for Aaron Copeland, then 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024, Quimiikoz Del Son is the opener for Grupo Fantasma, and rounding out the weekend, 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2024. it’s The Arlington Foundation for Excellence in Education. These concerts are free. Open seating is available on the lawn. Please bring blankets and lawn chairs. Arlington Parks Centennial x TREK 100 Mile Challenge Kick Off Party 

Join the Arlington Parks and Recreation Department at River Legacy Park's Elm Grove Pavilion for the kick-off party celebrating Arlington Parks Centennial x TREK 100 Mile Challenge, 6-9 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2024. For the month of May they are promoting a 100-mile challenge to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Arlington Parks and Recreation Department. This night will be about fun, food, and all friends in the community. Bring out the bikes and family!

Chess Club Tournament 

The Arlington Public Library’s Chess Club is excited to offer this tournament 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024. Students between the ages of 7 and 16 are invited to participate in this five-round, Swiss-style, non-elimination tournament. No fee is required, but players need to register for tournament between 9:30 - 9:45 a.m. on event day. First round begins at 10 a.m. with other rounds following as games are finished. Students have a chance to play five games. Plaques will be awarded to the 1st through 5th place winners! Plaques provided by Arlington Chess Club.

Pet Adoptions Event 

Join Arlington Animal Services mobile adoption truck will be at DICK’S Sporting Goods The Parks Mall Arlington with furry friends to meet 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024. Stop by to visit with an adoptable pet to get some pet therapy and possibly a forever friend. Cannot make it to the event? See adoptable pets by clicking here - or meet them in-person at Arlington Animal Services at 1000 SE Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington, TX 76018, open until 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

Small Business Week: Business Boost Seminar

Are you ready to take your business to the next level? Invest in yourself and your business at the Arlington Public Library’s business boost seminar 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library’s [re]Brary Room A. It is a morning of expert-led workshops designed to help current entrepreneurs and business owners boost their business and build their success. Light refreshments will be provided.

10 AM - Marketing w/ Lorena Bowles

Lorena Bowles is a marketing professional of 20+ years and the Chief Marketing Officer for Trinity Mission Healthcare in Arlington. She has done speaking engagements all around the country on marketing and networking strategies. She is also the founder and CEO of The Linked Network DFW, a group of Healthcare Professionals that meet once a month to better serve our community.

KUTUB: Arabic Book Club 

The Arabic Book Club “Kutub” meets on the first Saturday of the month from 12-1:30 p.m., at the Southeast Branch Library. Members will discuss novels, short stories, poetry, non-fiction, music, feature films or documentaries that explore Arabic culture. Read and discuss what you’ve read. Exploring new cultures, values, and practices is what makes us better human beings as any culture has things to teach us, regardless of differences. Open for adults and seniors. No registration required.

Stay-A-Float!

Whether you're stressed about finals, work, or life in general, it's nothing a root beer float and a cuddle with a puppy can't help cure! Come hang out with the Arlington Parks and Recreation Department and forget about your troubles, 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the East Library and Recreation Center. To register, click here

Cowboys Tacos & Tunes

Head to Miller Lite®House at AT&T Stadium for the Dallas Cowboys Tacos & Tunes Festival presented by Miller Lite 3-7 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024. Enjoy a variety of tacos and food truck options while you sip on cold drinks and listen to live music. Admission & parking are FREE! Please park in Lot 10.

Origami Class 

Learn how to make different origami designs in celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The event takes place 3-5 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024, at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library’s Tinker Room. Class is limited to the first 12 in attendance and is appropriate for ages 13+.

Fight Night Live! 

 Fight Night Live! is the ultimate watch party for the upcoming matches at Texas Live! Grab your crew and catch all the action for UFC 301 in Sports & Social Arlington, AND the Canelo vs. Munguia fight in the Shift4 Arena, with doors opening for both events at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2024. Enjoy multiple screens for viewing, drink specials, live entertainment, games, giveaways and more. 

Fiesta de Mayo

 No time to siesta, Texas Live! is throwing a FIESTA! Join for live music, custom margaritas, themed food offerings, major prize giveaways, and performances by various entertainers as doors open 1 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2024.
