The newest edition of the city’s Consumer Confidence Report, or Water Quality Report, is now online.

Arlington Water Utilities compiles testing data each spring from the previous calendar year to give residents a full picture of their water quality, where it comes from, and how it gets to their tap.

The newest edition of the city’s Consumer Confidence Report, or Water Quality Report, is now online at www.ArlingtonTX.gov/waterccr. A Spanish-language version of the report is online at www.ArlingtonTX.gov/waterccre.

The annual report is required by the EPA and the water department’s state regulatory authority, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). Some of the highlights of the seven-page document include:

  • Arlington Water Utilities employees work hard every day to provide tap water that meets all requirements for safety set by federal and state regulations. Like most of the tap water in Texas, Arlington’s water supply comes from what is known as surface water.
  • In 2023, the Arlington Water Utilities Laboratory analyzed 7,305 samples for 372 different substances. The 14-member staff at the lab has a combined 189 years of laboratory experience.
  •  The new Arlington Water Utilities Laboratory and Maintenance Building at the John F. Kubala Water Treatment Plant on U.S. Hwy 287 opened this spring. The new modern 26,825-square-foot facility replaces a lab building and maintenance facilities that were too small and outdated for the department’s current needs.
  •  Sampling conducted in June, September, and November 2023 at the Pierce Burch Water Treatment Plant and the John F. Kubala Water Treatment Plant shows Arlington’s tap water is compliant with new EPA standards for the six PFAS chemicals, based on a running annual average of results.

For more details, visit ArlingtonTX.gov/waterccr. Residents can also request a copy of the report be mailed to them by calling the lab at 817-575-8984.
