Arlington residents are invited to honor members of the United States and Allied Armed Forces who heroically served our country during the Vietnam War this Veteran’s Day.

The 15th Annual Veterans Day Commemoration Ceremony is set for 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11 at the Bob Duncan Center, 2800 S. Center St. The event is typically held at Arlington Veterans Park Memorial at Veterans Park, 3600 W. Arkansas Lane, but was relocated this year due to expected inclement weather.

The event is organized by the Arlington Great Southwest Rotary Club and the Arlington Veterans Park Foundation and is also co-sponsored by The Heroes of South Vietnam Memorial Foundation.

This year’s keynote speaker is SSGT. Gene Pugh, who was a member of the U.S. Army’s most elite and secretive units during the war in Vietnam. Pugh’s published books include Surrender Not an Option and The Reunion Mission.
