A new playground at Thora Hart Park located at 3150 W. Green Oaks Blvd. is set to tentatively open Spring 2019. The new playground is located next to the existing parking lot at Quail Ln. and Green Oaks.

The playground was relocated to provide easier access from parking. The new location was also selected to take advantage of the existing shade trees and to provide better visibility from the street. The original playground area that is located within the large field will be removed eventually, as for now, there are no plans to change the usage of the field area.

The new playground is a substantial upgrade from the existing playground. The equipment has integral shade canopies and is designed for two age groups; 2-5 years and 5-12 years and also has swings. The existing picnic tables will be retained around the new playground area and two new benches will be installed. In addition, drainage and landscape improvements will also take place.
