Spring Cleaning Tips

Looking to spring clean your home? The City of Arlington has spring cleaning tips to make your cleaning efforts more productive. Here are some things you need to know:

Household Trash & Leaves

  • Must be secured in a plastic bag.
  • Maximum weight: 50 lbs. per bag

Must be placed curbside no later than 7 a.m. on scheduled day of collection and not before 7 p.m. the evening prior to the day of scheduled collection.

Bagged grass clippings will not be picked up curbside.

Fence Panels, Tree limbs and Brush:

  • Must be trimmed and bundled
  • Max length: 4 feet
  • Max weight: 50 lbs. per bundle
  • Large amounts will be picked up at a rate of 1 cubic yard per pickup day until everything has been taken.

Household Furniture and Appliances:

Individual bulky items such as water heaters, toilets, recliners and mattresses may be set out curbside on your regular collection day for pickup. For larger setouts, we encourage our residents to redeem their annual landfill coupons to take these items straight to the Arlington landfill free of charge. You might also consider donating your item(s), if they are still in good usable condition, to a local charity.

Take the following items to the Arlington Landfill; they will NOT be picked up at the curb:

  • dirt
  • rock
  • concrete
  • bricks
  • tires
  • building materials
