The Arlington Police Department is investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a 30-year-old man.

On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at approximately 11:08 p.m., the Arlington Police Department responded to a shooting in progress at an apartment complex at the 2900 block of Forest Hollow Lane. A woman reported that the father of her child had been shot by one of her relatives.

The suspected shooter remained on the scene. He told officers he intervened to stop the 30-year-old man from strangling the woman and to protect himself. Through the course of their investigation, detectives learned there is a history of domestic violence involving the couple.

The man was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased from his injuries.

At this time, no arrests have been made. The case remains under investigation and will be referred to the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office for further review.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once the next of kin have been notified.
