City to Begin Rebuilding Marcellus Court, Slaughter Street and Sunnyvale Drive in July 2024

The Public Works Department is pleased to announce that the 2022 Residential Rebuild Phase I construction project is scheduled to begin in July 2024.

This project will consist of rebuilding Marcellus Court, Slaughter Street (North Center Street to North Mesquite Street) and Sunnyvale Drive (Hensley Terrace to Dawn Drive). This project is funded by Street Bond funds, Community Development Block Grant funds, Water Renewal funds and Sanitary Sewer renewal funds.

This project is estimated to be completed by March 2025, includes the following improvements:

  • Rebuilding the asphalt roadway to concrete roadway with sidewalk and ADA improvements
  •  Installing new streetlights
  •  Rebuilding driveway approaches
  •  Water and sanitary sewer renewals
  •  Drainage Improvements

 The Public Works Department will hold an informational meeting on Thursday, June 27, 2024, to provide information on the 2022 Residential Rebuild Phase I construction project.

 This meeting will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the [re]Brary Rooms A & B at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library located at 100 S. Center Street, Arlington, Texas, 76010. There will be a short presentation followed by a question-and-answer session.

 The purpose of this informational meeting is to provide information and answer your questions concerning construction. Please stop by to see a short presentation detailing the scope of the project and to ask any questions you may have about this project.

 This project was approved by Arlington voters in the 2018 Bond Election and aligns with the City Council’s priorities to Enhance Regional Mobility and Champion Great Neighborhoods.
