City Council Approves $160.4 Million Capital Budget

The Arlington City Council voted this week to approve a $160.4 million Capital Budget for this fiscal year, which includes funding to build the voter-approved Active Adult Center.

In addition to the Active Adult Center, capital improvement projects in the Capital Budget include improvements to numerous streets, sidewalks, traffic signals and intersections across the city, as well as for select parks and trails. The City will also begin work on projects such as the design to rebuild Fire Station No. 8 in north Arlington, construction of a new, larger police evidence storage facility and making improvements to the Arlington Municipal Airport.

Covid-19 Vaccines Available Twice a Week at Arlington Fire’s Public Health Unit

The Arlington Fire Department offers COVID-19 vaccines and boosters twice a week at its Public Health Unit, located at 2920 S. Cooper St. No appointments are necessary for the vaccine clinics, which will be held between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

These clinics are convenient for those who still seeking their first COVID-19 vaccine or for those who have missed their second dose of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine. Covid-19 booster doses are available as well.

Residents Invited to Star Party and Storytelling at O.S. Gray Natural Area

The Friends of O.S. Gray Natural Area invite you to join them for a Star Party and Storytelling in the Park, Saturday Feb. 26, 2022, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This event will be held at O.S. Gray Natural Area, located at 2021 W. Abram St.

Come try out a variety of telescopes, look at visible planets, constellations, stars, and chat with astronomers from the Fort Worth Astronomical Society about astronomy and their equipment.
