Mansfield ISD is excited to announce that in-person graduation ceremonies will be held for its class of 2020 seniors.
Amidst the social distancing guidelines set due to the coronavirus outbreak, it was overwhelmingly clear that the desire of the MISD community was to hold a traditional ceremony as long as the proper safety precautions were taken.
To honor that wish and to ensure that a reasonable number of guests can safely and comfortably attend, the graduation ceremonies will be held at Globe Life Field in Arlington (734 Stadium Drive, Arlington, TX 76011). The ballpark is the new home of the Texas Rangers that features a retractable roof.
The location change was made possible through the district’s great community partnerships and support. MISD is very appreciative of its generous corporate sponsors for providing this unique opportunity to its seniors.
More information about the number of tickets per graduate and procedures for receiving tickets will come from campus principals.
Please note that the dates of the ceremonies have also been moved to avoid facility scheduling conflicts and ensure a majority of seniors can attend. The new schedule of ceremonies is as follows:
- Legacy High School - Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
- Summit High School - Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 2:30 p.m.
- Timberview High School - Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 7:30 p.m.
- Lake Ridge High School - Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 9:30 a.m.
- Mansfield High School - Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 2:30 p.m.
- Frontier High School - Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 7:30 p.m.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as MISD Administration worked to finalize the details of the ceremony while keeping the wishes of students and families in mind.
The district is delighted to provide seniors a special, celebratory experience in the midst of a unique time for school districts across the nation.
