A year-long project to rebuild a mile of 24 to 36-inch diameter sanitary sewer main through parts of Lake Arlington Golf Course has been completed.
The $4.8 million project, which began in October 2019, replaced approximately 5,000 feet of sanitary sewer main. The existing sewer mains were selected for replacement based on a history of failures that required emergency repairs.
An additional 1,400 feet of sanitary sewer main was rehabilitated using cured-in-place pipe lining. The project also included erosion protection repairs to the spillway outlet at Lake Arlington Dam, located in Lake Arlington Golf Course.
Additional benefits of this project include:
• A larger sanitary sewer flow capacity for the area.
• Reduction in annual maintenance costs for the rebuilt mains.
• Prevention of future sanitary sewer overflows.
