Cat and Dog in the snow

A winter weather advisory is in effect with icy conditions and temperatures dipping extremely low. Protect your pets. Bring them inside to keep them dry, warm, and safe. All trapping for the Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program for feral cats is suspended at this time.

Remember when walking your pet that their paw pads are sensitive to cold surfaces and deicing chemicals. Massage petroleum jelly or a product specifically made to protect paws prior to a brief walk to help, or maybe have your pet make a fashion statement with a sweater or coat, and fancy protective pet footwear!

As with warm weather, never leave your pet in a vehicle during cold weather. Keep your pet safe from freezing temperatures.

Visit the Dog Safety in Freezing Temperatures and Community and Feral Cat Cold Weather Safety web pages, and the Animal Services Facebook page for more information.

Please share and have a safe winter with your furry friends!
