Arlington Board of REALTORS Receives National Grant for Expanding Housing Opportunities, Partners with City of Arlington

The Arlington Board of REALTORS® (ARBOR REALTORS®) was awarded a $5,000 grant from the National Association of Realtors®’ Housing Opportunity Program to support activities that create and expand affordable housing opportunities. The grant will be used to hold a homeownership fair, hosted by the City of Arlington, alongside other community partners.

Registration is open for the free Homeownership Fair, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2024, at the Bob Duncan Center, 2800 N. Center St. Homeownership Fair attendees are encouraged to pre-register for the event here (but walk-ups are welcome.) Click here to register for this event.

The Arlington Board of REALTORS said the grant will be used to help educate potential homeowners about the financial assistance programs available, their rights as homeowners, and how to maintain a home once purchased.

“We look forward to partnering with the City of Arlington, Mayor Ross and the Council, Grants Manager Dr. Nikky Lewis to help promote the availability, affordability, and accessibility of housing for all, said ARBOR REALTORS®’s CEO, Taylor Oldroyd.

The 2024 Homeownership Fair is open to everyone with an interest in homeownership, including current homeowners, those who are actively looking to buy a home, and anyone who wants to know more about the homebuying process and what it takes to become a homeowner.

In addition to partnering with the Arlington Board of REALTORS, the City is also working with the Hispanic Real Estate Brokers Association and Housing Channel to provide prospective homebuyers with valuable resources and information during the fair, which will include more than 40 vendors and agencies offering valuable information and products, as well as informational sessions in English and Spanish throughout the day.
