As we work to stop the spread of the new coronavirus COVID-19, we understand things are changing quickly. During this time, the City of Arlington will be providing frequent updates as the situation evolves. We want to assure you, your City leaders and all City departments are working to keep you safe and make sure you have access to the best information at all times. Here is where things stand as of Monday, March 16, 2020.

Closings and Cancellations:
Part of slowing the spread of COVID-19 means closing some public spaces.
- All recreation centers operated by the Arlington Parks and Recreation are closed through March 31, 2020
- Outdoor parks and trails will remain open along with the Arlington Tennis Center and City of Arlington golf courses. Click here to learn more.
- Arlington Public Library branches are closed through March 30, 2020
- You may still download ebooks and audiobooks during the closure. Library book drop-off slots are still open. Click here to learn more.
- For defendants, jurors, and witnesses scheduled for jury trials at Arlington Municipal Court from March 16 to April 3, 2020, those will be moved to a later date. The court will continue to operate under normal business hours. Click here to learn more.
- The City of Arlington Water Utilities department has temporarily halted all disconnections of water service because of delinquency. For accounts that are currently delinquent and would typically be scheduled for disconnection, no additional late fees will be applied if payment arrangements are made while this temporary policy is in place. The City has taken this action to aid residents whose income may be interrupted because of COVID-19 related closures or health emergencies. If your city services account is currently delinquent, please call 817-275-5931 to make payment arrangements and/or speak with a customer service representative. - Arlington Animal Services is implementing temporary procedures.
- Staff will respond to emergency calls only until further notice. This includes calls regarding animal bites to humans, aggressive animals and sick or injured animals.
- Pet adoptions can be made by appointment only by calling 817-575-8128. Stray animals will be taken in at the shelter on a case-by-case basis only.
- Individuals will not be allowed inside of the shelter. Transfers of animals will be handled outside of the building in the open air. Click here to learn more.
