Coronavirus Update

With the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issuing a health alert regarding the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19), the City of Arlington would like to remind residents and visitors about online options available for a variety of city services.

Residents can pay their water bill online and utilize e-services for the Municipal Court, pet licensing and more at www.arlingtontx.gov. Customers can also visit www.arlingtonpermits.com, a one-stop online platform for permits, licenses and registrations. The City encourages residents to utilize these online tools to help ensure good health, decrease the potential impacts of COVID-19, and to prevent its exposure to vulnerable populations.

The City of Arlington has also launched Citibot, an interactive text messaging tool that provides a new way for residents to report issues in the community, such as potholes or stray animals, or find information about city services and events, such as permits, public meetings or trash and recycling pick up dates. To start a conversation with Citibot, Arlington residents can text “hello” to 817-409-4110.

Residents can also report issues through the free Ask Arlington app. The app, available for Android and Apple devices and on the City's website, allows users to report common code complaints to the City of Arlington or request services, such as help locating a water or sewer line. You can also call the City’s Action Center hotline at 817-459-6777.

The coronavirus causes a respiratory illness with fever and cough. The City of Arlington encourages all residents and visitors to stay at home and away from others if you are sick. As a reminder, the best prevention method is to avoid being exposed to the virus. General hygiene and habits to help prevent the virus are:

  • Washing your hands
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
  • Avoid contact with people who are sick
  • Stay home if you are sick
  • Cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing with a tissue, then throw the tissue away
  • Disinfect frequently touched objects

The City of Arlington has created a coronavirus website that offers prevention tips, information about what Arlington and Tarrant County are doing to stay up-to-date, the latest news from the CDC, and more.

The City’s Public Health Authority and its Office of Emergency Management is communicating closely with Tarrant County Public Health, the Texas Department of State Health Services, the CDC, the Arlington medical community, and other partners to monitor and stay up-to-date on this evolving situation. Tarrant County has established a coronavirus hotline at 817-248-6299.

Although the coronavirus is a new virus that is spreading globally, the seasonal spread of the flu significantly impacts our community on an annual basis. Read “Remember the 3 Cs” for more information about stopping the spread of cold and flu:
