Citizens Bond Committee Presents $213.3 Million in Proposed Projects to City Council for 2023 Bond Program

Citizens Bond Committee

The Citizens Bond Committee presented a list of proposed projects, including a new public aquatic facility, a new fire station and $42 million in residential street rebuilds, for the City Council to consider in a potential bond package next year.

The total recommendation for the proposed four-year capital bond program is $213.3 million. The City Council is expected to begin reviewing and refining the list of proposed projects in January and February for a potential election in May.

In addition to online surveys and two in-person public meetings, the 19-member Citizens Bond Committee met weekly from Aug. 18 through Oct. 6 to discuss potential projects and develop a recommended project list.

  • New Fire Station No. 18 - $14,040,000
  • Maintenance/Major Building Components - $10 million
  • New Construction/Public Works South Field Operations Building - $9,710,000
  • Playground Replacements - $4 million
  • NL Robinson Park Development/Phase 1 - $2,050,000
  • Elzie Odom Athletic Center Improvements - $3,675,000
  • Woodland West Park Aquatic Facility - $7,595,000
  • Village Creek Linear Park Trail Development (Village Creek Trail Historical Area to Pioneer Parkway) - $7,350,000
  • Randol Mill Road Rebuild (Cooper Street to Collins Street) - $41,040,000
  • Intersection Improvements Project - $10 million
  • Park Row Drive Rebuild (New York Avenue to SH 360) - $43 million
  • Residential Street Rebuilds - $42,395,000
  • Sidewalk Program $6,250,000
  • Signal and ITS Annual Program - $7,500,000
  • Irrigation Annual Program - $500,000
  • Construction Materials Testing - $2,250,000
  • Safe Routes to School Program - $2 million
