Welcome-Back-to-School

The Public Works and Transportation Department's Stormwater Management Division would like to welcome all our students and teachers back for another school year and wanted to remind our educators that Stormwater staff provides elementary schools and their students with short 45-minute hands on presentations through the StormTalkers Education program.

These programs are designed to provide our students with a basic understanding of stormwater pollution and prevention, water quality, the function of the storm drain system and flood safety. These programs also provide support for TEKS biology and social studies testing standards.

  • 1st grade- Freddy the Fish
  • 2nd grade - A Rain Drops Journey
  • 3rd grade - Journey Through the Storm Drain
  • 4th grade - Bugs Don't Bother Me!
  • 5th and 6th grade - We all live in a Watershed

If you're interested in a StormTalkers presentation please contact Melissa Walker, Environmental Education Specialist at 817-459-6572 or [email protected].
