A Year in Review: Arlington continues to dream big when it comes to creating a bright future for our community. That's the message Mayor Williams delivered at the 2018 State of the City address, hosted by the Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce at the new Esports Stadium Arlington. Major headlines include the opening of the largest Esports venue in North America, winning the National Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management, and celebrating completion of the $250 million Texas Live! dining, entertainment and hospitality district, which has already attracted 1 million visitors since it opened in August.

Home Plate Update: Did you hear that Arlington will soon be the home to another professional sports team? The announcement about a new XFL team making Globe Life Park home in February 2020 is just one of the many stories featured in the 8th edition of Home Plate Update. The XFL announcement marks the first step in the process to repurpose Globe Life Park after the Texas Rangers play the team's last season at the ballpark in 2019. Read more about what's happening with the Rangers, the future Globe Life Field and Texas Live! in the latest edition of our quarterly newsletter.

Interlochen Lights: Feeling the Christmas spirit? The Interlochen neighborhood is hosting its dazzling Holiday Lights display for the 43rd year. Make plans to walk or drive your family through street after street of festive displays. This free neighborhood-organized event runs from Friday, Dec. 14 through Christmas Day. Free Classes: Arlington Water Utilities partners with Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) each spring to bring Learn and Grow classes taught by Tarrant County Master Gardeners to local libraries. This year, a limited number of the classes, which focus on water efficient landscape and gardening, are also available to homeowner associations and neighborhood groups. Interested groups must have their own meeting space to host a class session.
