Arlington Mayor

The competition is on! With time running out in the annual Salvation Army Mayoral Red Kettle Challenge, Arlington Mayor Jeff Williams is encouraging the community to show its support for the nonprofit.

Williams is one of seven North Texas mayors participating in the Salvation Army Mayoral Red Kettle Challenge, which started in 2009. This year's challenge also includes mayors from Mansfield, Dalworthington Gardens, Pantego, North Richland Hills, Hurst and Bedford. Williams aims to surpass the nearly $12,700 he collected during last year's competition with the support from the Arlington community.

Those who are interested in helping can make an online donation on Williams' Salvation Army Mayoral Red Kettle Challenge page by clicking here.

Williams and Arlington City Council members, along with Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders, will also be ringing bells and collecting donations between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 16 at Walmart, 915 E. Randol Mill Road. Members of the Mayor's Youth Commission will also be collecting donations that day at the Chick-fil-a, 1505 N. Collins St.
