Arlington

Happy Holidays! Arlington will light up the City green this Sunday and Monday, December 24 and 25, 2017, in celebration of the Christmas holiday season.

Signage within the Entertainment District and Interstate 30 will change from white to green on December 24. One of Arlington's newest landmarks, the Interstate 30 gateway monument that welcomes drivers as they enter our Entertainment District, will be the focal point of this color transition. The 20-foot tall monument, located north of Randol Mill Park near the Fielder Road exit, is typically illumined with white light but features LED lights can be programmed to change colors for holidays and special events, including home wins by the Dallas Cowboys or Texas Rangers. Look for a different color on New Year's Day! Can you guess what color the signs will be?

In related news, the Arlington City Council approved a contract December 12 with Schrickel, Rollins and Associates to begin the design for the second gateway monument. This monument will welcome people to the City near the intersection of SH 287 and Russell Curry Road in Southwest Arlington. Construction on this monument will begin in mid-2018.
