General Motors" Arlington Assembly plant recently celebrated the 11 millionth vehicle - a 2018 Tahoe RST - produced at the facility since it opened in 1954.

"Chevrolet has led the full-size utility segment in sales for 42 consecutive years by focusing on our customers and providing a range of confident, capable and connected vehicles to move a lot of people and cargo,"said Eric Stanczak, chief engineer for Full-Size Trucks and SUVs. "Today, we continue that leadership with a complete lineup of full-size utility vehicle options to meet our customers" lifestyles and needs, from Tahoe Custom to Suburban Premier to the 420-horsepower Tahoe RST."

Arlington Assembly"s impressive milestone underscores Chevrolet"s full-size utility success story. Seventy-five percent of all full-size utility vehicles sold to retail customers in the U.S. are built at Arlington Assembly and nearly one in two full-size utility vehicles sold in the U.S. wears the Chevrolet bowtie. No other company has such a dominant share of any segment in the industry.

To keep up with consumer demand, Arlington Assembly"s production line has run 24 hours a day, six days a week, producing one vehicle almost every 60 seconds since 2015. In addition, GM promised a $1.4 billion investment, GM"s largest single-factory investment in the U.S., in Arlington Assembly over three years beginning in 2015.

Arlington Assembly builds the full-size Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, GMC Yukon and Yukon XL and Cadillac Escalade SUVs. The first vehicle was built at the plant in January 1954.
