Mariners vs. Rangers

Now that the Texas Rangers are officially eliminated from the playoffs, the team is playing the role of spoiler down the stretch. That should make for some entertaining baseball, fans. First up: the Seattle Mariners, who are fighting for one of the two wild cards.

Dallas Cowboys vs 49ers

Are you ready for some football? AT&T Stadium will be rocking this Sunday as the Dallas Cowboys play its season home opener against the San Francisco 49ers. Grab some Standing Room Only (SRO) tickets for the 3:25 p.m. game and cheer on Tony Romo and the rest of the 'Boys. If you 're planning to go to AT&T Stadium, please remember the stadium 's bag policy. Ticket prices vary.

Live Music Returns to Levitt Pavilion

Bring your lawn chair and enjoy free music this weekend at Levitt Pavilion, as the Everything Energy Fall Concert Series continues with concerts Friday, Saturday and Sundays. This weekend 's shows begin at 8 p.m.

  • Friday: Green River Ordinance brings hopeful songwriting and soaring harmonies to Arlington.
  • Saturday: The Damn Quails, a "young band with old souls, ' energizes the crowd with a sound that combines folk music, country, Americana and rock "n ' roll.
  • Sunday: MilkDrive features a funky, friendly jazz-grass sound.

Book It for Literacy Run Race

If you 're looking to break a sweat for a good cause, head on over to River Legacy Park on Saturday morning for the 5th annual Book it For Literacy 5K/1K. The event, which will benefit Arlington Public Library 's Arlington Reads program, will take place from 7 a.m. - 11 a.m. Arlington Reads provides adult, family and youth literacy services for Arlington residents. Registration is $25 until Sept. 5 at 3 p.m./$35 on-site race day.

Arlington Bridal Show

Meet some of the region 's best wedding professionals this Sunday as the Arlington Signature Bridal Show opens at the Arlington Convention Center. The show runs from noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free. Parking is $5.
