The University of Texas at Arlington Master of Science in Taxation program ranks in the top 10 for the third year in a row, according to a national online network for tax professionals.

TaxTalent.com surveyed 143 heads of corporate tax departments across the nation to rank master's programs for 2014.

UT Arlington finished No. 8 in the nation, one slot higher than last year's No. 9 finish.

Accounting Department Chairman Chandra Subramaniam said the ranking reflects hard work by College of Business faculty and the students they serve.

"Our tax faculty really deserve a lot of credit in keeping students up to date on the latest changes in tax code and tax filing," Subramaniam said. "It is a changing landscape and we keep up with those changes to keep the program on the cutting edge."

Rachel Croson, dean of the College of Business, said the demand is high for UT Arlington graduates in tax education.

"Firms recognize that UT Arlington is the go-to place to fuel their workforce," Croson said. "We are honored to receive the ranking for the third year in a row."

TaxTalent's 2013 rankings came out late last year. The 2014 rankings were released this week.
