City Office Tower & Municipal Court Parking

If you will be making a trip to the City Office Tower and Municipal Court in the next couple of weeks, please take note of construction in that area.

Beginning this week, crews will tear down the second level parking structure at this building, impacting parking availability.

"Parking will be a struggle during our two week project time," said Steve Cooke, Assistant Director of Public Works and Transportation. "However, one of our awesome crews has marked 98 additional on-street spaces and we've secured additional parking in the Pinnacle, First Baptist and MAX parking lots for us all to use. With their help, we have more than made up for all of the spaces temporarily lost."

Below is the anticipated timeline of the project. Please refer to the map below to see where public parking is available.

Friday, June 20th

Work on this project will begin at 4:30 p.m. on June 20th. All vehicles need to be removed from the lower level of the parking garage and the head-in parking that faces the parking garage by 4:30 p.m. so temporary fencing can be installed in order to segregate the demolition area.

Monday, June 23rd

A contractor will begin demolishing the structure. This work is expected to take the entire week of the 23rd - 27th. The hauling of debris from the demolition site is expected to commence on the second or third day of the demolition and continue until July 3rd. All construction is scheduled to be completed by July 3rd and the temporary fencing will be removed.

Monday, July 7th

The lower parking area will be opened to the public for parking. One additional area of concrete construction will be fenced off, but it will be limited to the area where the ramp to get to the top level is currently located. This concrete work will begin in the weeks following the demolition.

Please print out the map so you know where public parking is available in Downtown Arlington. Note areas that will be designated as public parking, public on-street parking, designated City staff parking and temporary parking near the City Office Tower.
