Arlington Animal Services is proud to announce the Dog of the Week, "Ruger". A beautiful German Shepherd Mix, this young boy came to the shelter as a stray with his sister. Ruger is considered a large size dog. Weighing in at approximately 68 pounds, this boy is estimated to be around three years old. This handsome young dog will require a family with a yard and plenty of exercise. German Shepherds are smart dogs, requiring training and mental stimulation. Volunteers who have worked with this gentle giant found that he is treat motivated and very smart. He is trained in basic commands; knows sit and down, walks well on a leash, and is very attentive! He appears friendly and seems to enjoy the company of most people he comes into contact with at the shelter. If you enjoy the company of a larger breed, and think Ruger would be a good fit for your family, please come down to the Arlington Animal Services Center today and meet with him! Adoption fees include all core vaccinations, a micro-chip, and 30 days of free pet insurance. He is located in DA18 with ID number A19771084. Ruger is waiting for his forever home and is looking forward to meeting his new family today!
