MetroArlingtonXpress

MAX will connect the University of Texas at Arlington in the downtown area to the TRE's CentrePort/DFW Airport Station. Buses will operate Monday-Friday from about 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Here are step-by-step directions for using Metro ArlingtonXpress buses!

  1. Arrive at one of two initial stops - College Park Center stop at UT Arlington or the TRE's CentrePort/DFW Airport Station - at least 5 minutes early. Wait on the sidewalk near the marked bus stop where the driver can see you.
  2. Be ready to board with exact change or a valid pass purchased through DART, The T or TRE.
  3. As the bus approaches, check the sign above the front window to make sure it's bus 221-Metro ArlingtonXpress. Signal the operator that you wish to board.
  4. Stay back from the curb and wait until the bus comes to a complete stop. If you need to use a board ramp or lift, just ask the operator. If you have a bike, place it on the bike rack on the front of the bus.
  5. Board and pay your fare to the driver by presenting cash or by swiping your pre-purchased pass through the pass reader machine at the front of the bus. If you're standing, please move toward the back so others can board.
  6. When you arrive at your destination, please gather all personal items and exit the bus.
  7. If arriving at the CentrePort/DFW Airport Station, you may take the TRE toward Fort Worth or Dallas. In Fort Worth, you can transfer to any T bus in the system. Commuters arriving in Dallas may change to any DART bus or train in the system. You may also take the DART 500 bus to DFW Airport Terminal A.

For your safety

  • Never cross the street in front of a bus unless it's stopped at a red light.
  • Keep your kids close to make sure you don't get separated.
  • If you see suspicious behavior or a suspicious package, or if there is an emergency or unsafe situation on board, tell the MAX bus driver or call 9-1-1.
