As the weather cools off, there’s nothing better than a visit to the park on a crisp autumn day! Mark your calendar for these upcoming October events with Arlington Parks and Recreation.

National Night Out – Tuesday, October 3

Celebrate your community and meet your neighbors at this annual event designed to promote positive relationships between residents and community groups and officials. Meet your local public safety partners and enjoy food, games, and fun at Bob Cooke Park on October 3 from 6-9 PM! In addition, we will also be hosting the Goals and Gritos rainout event. There will be food trucks, vendors, and a free soccer clinic.

Oktoberfest – Friday, October 6

Get ready to add some oompah to your weekend plans with live German music, food trucks, beverages, yard games and more at Arlington’s annual Oktoberfest celebration! Oktoberfest 2023 is set from 6-10 PM on Friday, October 6 at SJ Stovall Park. The City of Arlington is celebrating the 72nd anniversary of its Sister City relationship with Bad Königshofen, a small northern Bavarian town in Germany.

Aging Well Expo – Tuesday, October 17

The Aging Well Expo for 50+ adults is a free, fun, and informational one-day event that brings businesses and the community together. It's a chance to interact with over 100 health professionals and attend a variety of interesting presentations on wellness.
There will be fitness demonstrations, entertainment, speakers, health screenings, housing resources, and more. This year’s event will be on Tuesday, October 17 from 9 AM – 2 PM at the Esports Stadium Arlington & Expo Center.

Harvest Splash – Friday, October 20

East Indoor Pool will be hosting their first floating pumpkin patch on Friday, October 20! Find your perfect pumpkin with us and decorate it in our Party Room, and take photos with it at our photo booth from 5-8 PM. You won't want to miss this awesome autumnal event! All participants must pre-register. An adult must be in the water with all non-swimmers, 3-5 year-olds, and individuals wearing life jackets.

Trail or Treat – Friday, October 27

Join us for this spook-tacular annual event at East Library and Recreation Center on October 27 from 6-8 PM! We'll have fun games, vendors, trick-or-treating, and more to celebrate fall and get into the Halloween spirit. This is a free event for ages 5-12. Wear your best costume and we’ll provide the fun! No registration required.

Phantom Lights – Saturday, October 28

Grab all your favorite ghouls and goblins and head over to Cliff Nelson Recreation Center on October 28 for a family friendly evening of games, music and fun from 6-8 PM! We will be selling floating lanterns ($10/each) on a first come basis. There will be opportunities to decorate your lantern and then watch it float the night away on the Cliff Nelson pond.
