Warm Up at a City Facility 

Residents seeking a place to go for relief during freezing temperatures can visit City of Arlington public libraries and recreation centers, which are open to the public during their posted business hours.

Arlington Public Library Locations

  • George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, 100 S. Center St.
    9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
  • East Library and Recreation Center, 1817 New York Ave. (Library side only)
    10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.
  • Ron Wright Lake Arlington Branch Library, 4000 W. Green Oaks Blvd. 
    10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
  • Northeast Branch Library, 1905 Brown Blvd.

    6 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays
  • Dottie Lynn Recreation Center, 3200 Norwood Lane
    8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Friday or 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays
