Sanitary Sewer Main, Water Main Replacement to Begin Soon Along Woodland Park Boulevard
Construction will soon begin on the replacement of 5,200 feet of sanitary sewer mains and 6,300 feet of water mains along Woodland Park Boulevard between Lakewood Drive and Park Springs Boulevard.
A public meeting about the Arlington Water Utilities project is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 15 at 6 p.m. in the Arlington Council Briefing Room on the 3rd floor of Arlington City Hall, 101 W. Abram St. Parking for the meeting will be available in the west parking lot across from City Hall. Water department engineers and representatives from Jackson Construction, the contractor on the project, will be available to answer questions at the meeting.
Existing 6-inch to 15-inch water and sanitary sewer mains will be replaced with new 8-inch to 15-inch mains. Once the water and sanitary sewer main improvements are complete, approximately 24,800 square yards of asphalt pavement will be reconstructed. These improvements will replace aging infrastructure with a history of water main breaks, reduce maintenance costs, and improve service to your neighborhoods.
Construction on the project is set to begin in September 2024 and end in January 2026.
The project will begin at Lakewood Drive. The construction sequence may be adjusted during construction.
