Everyone counts

Editor's Note: This article, originally published Jan. 6, was updated Jan. 17 with additional information about volunteer needs.

The Annual Point in Time Count is a nationwide event held in January to provide a snapshot of what homelessness looks like in one night for every community in the country. This year’s count will take place on Jan. 23, 2025.

Partnership Home is seeking up to 500 volunteers to count and survey people living in unsheltered settings throughout Tarrant and Parker counties. As of Friday, Jan. 17, the nonprofit was still seeking an additional 50 or more volunteers to assist with the count in Arlington.

Information collected during the count, held from 5:30 p.m. to midnight, will better help the nonprofit organization understand what resources the community may need and to identify communitywide strategies to end homelessness. Those who are interested in volunteering can select Arlington, Fort Worth, Northeast Tarrant or Parker County on the Point in Time volunteer registration website.

Volunteers can sign up as individuals or create a team. Mandatory training will be provided to all volunteers via the web and on the night of the count.
