Apply for a passport at the Arlington Public Library's Passport Acceptance Facility located at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library, 100 South Center St., Arlington, TX, 76010. The Passport Acceptance Facility is an online appointments-only system.
The George W. Hawkes Downtown Library is one of a few libraries, in North Texas, that offers this service. The goal of this project is to provide easy access and multiple services for our community. Whether you need certificates, permits, and other important documents from City Hall, or would like to start the process of obtaining your passport at the Downtown Library, these services are all available in Downtown Arlington.
The Downtown Library is the only library in our system that will accept passport applications on behalf of the U.S. Department of State. Documents for passports will be available for adults and children. Documentation required for applications, such as birth certificates, are obtainable at the Vital Records office in Arlington’s City Hall, located at 101 W. Abram St. 1st Floor, Arlington, TX, 76010. See the full instructions on how to apply for a passport here.
“We are thrilled to offer this service, making the library a vital resource in our community,” Operations and Facilities Management Administrator, Ivonne Kieffer said. “Accessibility was our main priority when it came to this service. Residents can obtain records from City Hall, use library computers to fill out their application, make copies, and file their application all in one area".
The Arlington Public Library began providing passport services on Sept. 23, 2021.
