Leverage Technology

During the 2023-2024 school year, the City of Arlington’s Information Technology Department coordinated with Mansfield ISD’s Ben Barber Innovation Academy STEM Program and hosted four high school seniors in internship positions. The internships provided students with professional mentoring and hands-on working environments in which they could explore potential career choices that align with the STEM curriculum.

Interns are a valuable addition to our workforce and allow the City to spotlight how we leverage technology across the rich inter-disciplinary municipal government environment.

You can read more about Arlington’s IT internship program in the latest edition of the Leveraging Technology newsletter. This edition also features the 2024 Pavement Survey and more.

All quarterly City Council priority newsletters are now produced in a digital formal, allowing for layers of additional video content and important links.

The Arlington City Council has identified “Leveraging Technology” as one of six priorities. Technology is an essential aspect of daily life and has quite the impact on our organization, residents, visitors and businesses. It is also integral in achieving the City’s other priorities: Invest in Our Economy, Support Youth and Families, Enhance Regional Mobility, Champion Great Neighborhoods and Build Unity.
