Former Texas Rangers Pitcher, Jose Guzman, is living his Dream now as Spanish Language Broadcaster

Jose Guzman was a professional baseball player who played as a pitcher for the Texas Rangers from 1985–1988 and 1991–1992 before signing as a free agent with the Chicago Cubs in 1992. His last MLB appearance was May 23, 1994 before retiring from baseball.

Originally from Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico, Guzman started his baseball career in the minor leagues after signing with the Texas Rangers as an amateur free agent in 1981 when he was 17 years old. He quickly showed his potential and made his MLB debut in 1985 against the Oakland Athletics. He remained with the Rangers for six more seasons, winning the 1991 MLB Comeback Player of the Year Award.

After retiring from baseball, Guzman has worked as a Spanish language radio broadcaster for the Texas Rangers. He also holds a charity golf tournament for Alzheimer patients each October for his non-profit organization Guzman23 Foundation. He created this organization in memory of his late mother who died from Alzheimer and to honor the work that his sister did for many years as take giver for his mother.
