The Arlington Police Department is investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a 19-year-old man.
On Monday, January 13, 2025, at approximately 5:49 p.m., officers responded to an apartment complex in the 2400 block of Laurelwood Drive to investigate a reported shooting.
When officers arrived on scene, they located the 19-year-old man lying in the parking lot with an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office has publicly identified him as Zacchaeus Selby-Mukum.
At this time, there is no suspect information and no arrests have been made. Witnesses told officers they heard arguing prior to hearing gunshots.
A motive for the shooting is unclear. Based on their investigation, detectives have not ruled out the possibility that high-risk activity may be involved.
