The Arlington Police Department has made a third arrest in connection to the 2021 shooting death of Omar Juma.
On April 22, 2022, members of the APD Fugitive Unit located 20-year-old Roderion Coleman and took him into custody without incident. He was charged with one count of Capital Murder.
The department previously arrested 25-year-old Dillen Fields and 24-year-old Darrian Hammonds in connection to the case. They were each charged with one count of Capital Murder as well.
Investigators believe the morning of the shooting, the suspects and Mr. Juma were engaged in high risk activity – and during an arranged meeting, the suspects attempted to rob Mr. Juma. As Mr. Juma tried to get away and close his front door on the suspects, one of the suspects began firing through the door. Mr. Juma was struck by the gunfire and was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Detectives are confident they now have all suspects in custody related to this case.
Mr. Coleman’s arrest warrant affidavit is attached to this news release.
All three suspects are currently being held at the Tarrant County Jail.
